Medicare Annual Enrollment Period (AEP)

You must sign up during the Medicare Advantage and Prescription Drug Plan Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) for your revised or new plan to go into effect on January 1, 2023.  If you have a Medicare Advantage Plan or a Part D plan, your provider should send you an Annual Notice of Change that details any changes to your plan’s terms, conditions, and charges for the following year. It might be quite helpful to look into different options, even if you’re happy with your existing coverage and these projected adjustments.

The following modifications are permitted during AEP:

• Transfer from Original Medicare (Parts A and B) to a Medicare Advantage plan (Part C).

• Switch between Medicare Advantage plans.

• Change your Prescription Drug Plan (Part D) to a different one. Get additional information on contrasting prescription drug programs.

• If you didn’t enroll when you originally became eligible for Medicare, add a prescription drug plan. During AEP, get more information on selecting a prescription drug plan.
